How we make money

A site like this one is paid for by commission: when a reader buys something after following a link, the shop pays the site a percentage. This page says where WiredNexus stands on that today, and what will not change when it starts.

Today, nothing here earns a commission

The links to shops on this site are plain links. None of them carries an affiliate tag, and no purchase made through them pays us anything. That is not a position, it is simply where the site is: the links are not monetised yet.

When that changes, this page will say so, and the links that earn will be the ones on product pages and in price tables — the buttons with a shop’s name on them.

What the commission will never buy

A score. Every score on this site is worked out from the specification and the price, by the same arithmetic for every product, and the code that ranks has no access to commercial terms at all. A shop that pays more cannot move a product up a list, and a product with no link to any shop is ranked exactly as it would be with one.

A verdict, either. The upgrade advisor tells most people to keep what they own — which would earn nothing — because for a two-year-old device that is usually the honest answer. Plenty of products here carry a low score and say why.

What we do not do, now or later

  • Accept payment to review a product, to change a score, or to appear in a list.
  • Take a free sample in exchange for coverage.
  • Publish a sponsored post dressed up as a review. An advertisement on this site is marked as one.

Prices

Prices are recorded from the shops and move constantly, so the one you see here may already be out of date — the price at the shop when you buy is the only one that counts. We do not call a price a good deal unless there is enough recorded history behind it to mean anything, and where there is not, the page says that instead.
