Spec score: 84 out of 100
The Garmin Forerunner 965 is a capable GPS triathlon smartwatch built for serious athletes. It packs a bright 1.4-inch AMOLED display that makes outdoor metrics easy to read under sunlight. With a battery life reaching up to 23 days and built-in music storage, it handles long training sessions without frequent charging. The 5 ATM water resistance adds peace of mind for swimmers.
What works
- The 1.4-inch AMOLED screen keeps maps and workout metrics clearly visible in bright sunlight.
- A massive battery life of up to 23 days means fewer interruptions for daily charging.
- Built-in music storage lets you leave your phone behind while out for a run.
What does not
- At 88 grams, the weight might feel heavy on smaller wrists during all-day wear.
- The 240 x 240 display resolution is quite basic for an AMOLED panel at this price.
- Health tracking is limited to HRV and sleep sensors, missing an ECG or blood pressure monitor.

Spec scores — worked out from the specification sheet (chip, battery against screen size, display, camera, ANC…) and the store price, not from hands-on testing. Sound quality and a watch's accuracy are not on a spec sheet, so part of those areas is the price class among similar products. Areas the specs cannot tell us are left out.
Before you buy
Things the product page will not tell you
