Spec score: 75 out of 100

The Sony Alpha ILCE-6700 brings a 26.0 MP APS-C sensor and 4K video recording to a mirrorless body. Because this is sold as a body only, you will need to budget separately for compatible lenses to start shooting.

What works

  • The 26.0 MP APS-C sensor captures detailed stills.
  • 4K video capability handles high-resolution recording.
  • Compact mirrorless body design keeps weight manageable for travel.

What does not

  • Sold as body only, meaning you must buy lenses separately.
  • Lacks bundled optics out of the box.

Spec scores — worked out from the specification sheet (chip, battery against screen size, display, camera, ANC…) and the store price, not from hands-on testing. Sound quality and a watch's accuracy are not on a spec sheet, so part of those areas is the price class among similar products. Areas the specs cannot tell us are left out.

Before you buy

Things the product page will not tell you

  • The package includes only the camera body, so you must purchase compatible E-Mount lenses separately before use.
