What decides it at this specification

A curve is quoted as a radius: 1800R means the screen is part of a circle 1.8 metres across, and the smaller the number, the deeper the curve. The point is to keep the far edges of a wide screen the same distance from your eye as the middle, which only helps on a panel wide enough for that distance to differ — on a 24-inch monitor a curve is decoration, on a 34-inch ultrawide it is the reason the edges stay in focus.
